We are so excited that John's parents were able to come visit us on Maui. It wasn't certain they would be able to make the long trip, but it worked out and we're so glad it did! They had never been to Hawai'i and it was great fun showing them around.
Right off the bat we got some great views at Ho'okipa Lookout. Jerry has a nice camera that can capture wonderful distance images. For example, some windsurfers shooting back and forth out on the windy waves:

While we were there, a large dog pulled up in a small car:
Turtles! This has been a consistently great place to watch sea turtles sunning on the beach:

Kipahulu visitor center (part of Haleakala National Park) had a nice hands-on craft event. Part of it was a demonstration on how to weave with hala leaves.
The other part was stringing your own lei, and Jenny was game to try:

The highlight for Jerry was seeing Charles Lindbergh's grave at Palapala Ho'omau Church; that was a fun thing to surprise him with:

A waterfall that was dry the previous weekend was now flowing - it drops off the cliff pretty much down into the ocean. It was great having Jerry's camera to get a close-up view of it:
