Formule 1

We have a favorite European hotel chain called Formule 1 and we wish this idea would come to the US. For 30 Euros you get a room with a queen-size bed plus a bunkbed over it. There is a sink, a little desk, and a TV. Out in the hallway you find the shared showers and toilets - all self-cleaning, individual stalls. The rooms have entry codepads so no need for room keys. The design is very basic, easy to replicate, easy to clean, and the rooms are half the cost of a normal hotel room.

Perfect for travelers like us who might sleep in a car to save money and who find showers and a private room to be a luxury...
