Travel to VT & LA

We flew across the country at the end of May to visit Mom (one of the best reasons to get on an airplane!).  Since we left out of Phoenix, we spent a couple hours at the Musical Instrument Museum.  Our season pass has come in really handy these past few months.

We discovered a room where you can play a few instruments yourself, fun!  This one looks like my size (the instrument, not the man):

The harp might require too much sitting down:

Gongggggg!

We were enthralled by a demonstration of this giant machine, the Apollonia Dance Organ, that auto-plays a bunch of instruments and can be programmed with different songs:

Jake!  We've been lucky enough to see him in concert (with Kathy and Bob) and he is an amazing ukulele player.  His song arrangements and performances are incredible, happy to see him honored at the museum:

Photo from the air of the meteor crater east of Flagstaff - that's gonna leave a mark:

Mom's house with a new barn quilt square and colorful flowers:

Giant Skelly is too far away to get a decent "to scale" photo, but at least I can show him in the same shot as Camel's Hump.  This is actually a more appropriate picture for October instead of May, so in this case I'm right on time!  Just missing colorful leaves:

I should have gotten as least one selfie with all of us - next time!

To make up for that, here are a bunch of people pictures at our next destination.  To the Bogles to install solar on the roof of their new house!  And Kip and Jason joined us to help, yay!

Michelle kept us well fed and Logan joined us occasionally (especially for lifting panels to the roof later):

View of the big backyard (and Jason, one of the dogs, and the beehives) from the roof:

John has gotten good at conduit bending over the years:

A bunch of panels on the roof, waiting for final installation:

Dave did a lot of the wiring, with oversight from John:

Two big battery banks, nice!

Team Vignette goes solar:

At the end of the week we celebrated a successful install with a round of disc golf:

Dave demonstrating how this should be done:

We all had our moments of glory and silliness, and mostly we laughed a lot, which is the important thing.  Kip with a good throw:

There's more than one obstacle in these here woods:

Made it to the end - fun day!

Thank you Mom and everyone in Louisiana for the hospitality and excellent visits!
